As it has done in previous years, Apple WWDC keynotes 2024 unveiled new software features that would be added to its current line of AirPods headphones and earbuds on Monday.

With the release of Siri Interactions, AirPods users will be able to interact with Siri in new ways thanks to new gesture controls. If you want to react without speaking, you simply shake your head, yes or no. This is especially helpful in noisy places.

The latest Voice Isolation technology for AirPods Pro makes use of the H2 chip and machine learning to isolate and improve voice quality while eliminating ambient noise, such as wind, so that the listener can clearly hear you.

Additionally, dynamic head tracking Personalized Spatial Audio has been added, and it now support games. Need for Speed Mobile on iOS was among the first titles to enable the functionality. Apple is adding a new API so that developers can benefit from new high-quality 16-bit, 48kHz audio for a game chat with AirPods Pro, as well as tailored spatial audio.

The third generation of AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max are compatible with Personalized Spatial Audio for games. Gamers who use AirPods Pro also experience reduced audio latency. Later this autumn, a software update will provide the new functions.

Prior WWDC keynotes saw Apple unveiling Adaptive Audio and Conversation Detection features for the AirPods, in addition to a continuous stream of new accessibility-focused improvements.
