The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Will Feature a S Pen Slot, Better Cameras, and Other Features.

Before the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 was released, rumors stated that it would have an S Pen slot. It appears, though, that the South Korean tech giant decided against it, perhaps because of concerns over how doing so would affect the phone’s weight and thickness.

One of the most anticipated features may be included in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy foldable phones. The South Korean tech titan has been releasing new Galaxy foldable every year since 2019. The business improved compatibility for the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s S Pen stylus last year. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, which made its debut in August of this year, supports the S Pen as well. These, unlike the Galaxy S22 Ultra, do not have a storage compartment specifically for the S Pen.

Samsung met with vendors in October to discuss its foldable smartphone strategy, according to a recent article by The Thelec. The lack of a dedicated S Pen slot, among other things, is one of the problems that the business claims need to be fixed in order to boost the appeal of the Galaxy Z Fold series.

The newest Galaxy Z Fold 4 is 263 grams heavy. It weighs more than both the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which weigh 240 and 206 grams, respectively.

Additionally, Samsung hopes to make its upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 with an S Pen slot lighter, thinner, and more robust. Other problems that the business hopes to solve with its foldable phone include minimizing screen creases and enhancing camera performance. Featuring a 21.6:18 aspect ratio is the Z Fold 4. The company also emphasized the creation of software to provide a 4:3 aspect ratio experience throughout the meeting.

Along with discussing the problems that Samsung hopes to solve with its upcoming foldable with its suppliers, Samsung also revealed its aspirations for the market for foldable phones. The market for foldable smartphones, according to the business, will grow at a CAGR of up to 80% by 2025. The justification for it is that South Korean iPhone users in their 20s and 30s are converting to Samsung foldable. Compared to before, the adoption rate of Samsung foldable climbed three to four times.

Samsung predicts that up to 90% of current foldable phone owners will buy a foldable smartphone as their next handset. The dominant South Korean IT company also anticipates Apple’s entry into the foldable market. However, the Cupertino-based corporation is more likely to deliver tablets and laptops with flexible screens than folding smartphones.
